Bikeplus opens first survey of UK bike share scheme users

The first survey of UK bike share users has been launched by shared transport organisation Bikeplus.

Users of UK bike share schemes outside London, including two of the main operators Hourbike and Nextbike  as well as independent schemes such as Slough Cycle Hire  have been invited to complete the survey.

Bikeplus Manager Antonia Roberts said:

“This is the first time we have surveyed all the users of bike share schemes in the UK. We know that the numbers are growing, but this survey will give us an invaluable insight into why people join schemes and how they use them, enabling us to measure the social and environmental impact of bike sharing. We will also be analysing the feedback to find out how to improve bike share schemes and increase the number of users and journeys made by bike.”

The survey is open until 17th September and bike share scheme users can complete it here.

This data will be combined with results from the Transport for London Santander Cycles scheme which has been evaluated since its inception to give the first full UK wide picture.

The results of the first UK bike share scheme user survey will be published in September 2016.
