This is a great opportunity to join a small, innovative charity focused on maximising the policy impacts of shared mobility (car clubs, bike share and ride sharing) and ensuring the benefits are achieved for people and places in Scotland. Carplus Bikeplus (soon to be rebranded CoMoUK) plays a leading role in the UK’s transition to modern, integrated mobility through advocacy, research and development. The Scottish Director will embed shared transport into Scotland’s new mobility landscape. This will initially be through the Making Shared Transport Work for Scotland programme. This will raise awareness and show what shared mobility can achieve within 5 contexts (residential and place making, workplaces, community transport, tourism and renewables). This will be promoted alongside other ways of travelling that together make for resilient, lower impact, fairer mobility that enhance modern lifestyles and places, while reducing the unwelcome environmental, social and health costs of car dependent lifestyles.

With sound knowledge of the shared transport sector, and experience in government policy, you will oversee the delivery of the Scottish strategic objectives, and have a clear vision for advancing CoMoUK’s mission in Scotland. An essential part of this role will be advocating the benefits of shared transport by raising the profile of CoMoUK through building effective relationships with key partners and stakeholders including policy makers and key influencers. You will have strong leadership skills and experience in identifying opportunities to develop the programme including sourcing new funding streams.
