Types of events

We run, co-host and participate in a range of innovative events for stakeholders throughout the year.

Working groups discuss the future of Journey Sharing at Google Campus.

Our events provide delegates with unique networking opportunities and the chance to hear the very latest developments in the industry from leading transport experts, commercial innovators and community trailblazers. Our audiences are diverse and we are always open to discussing event sponsorship opportunities.

Regular events

Car Club Forums

Run three times a year in London, as part of our programme of work for Transport for London. The Car Club Forums present an opportunity to benefit from sharing best practice, technical guidance and networking opportunities for car club stakeholders including car club operators, and local authorities. Open to all, free to Carplus members and London boroughs.

Run on an annual basis, our conferences provide an opportunity to share best practice on a selected theme, explore recent developments, and network with sustainable transport stakeholders.

Community Networking Workshops

Run on a regular basis in Scotland, the Networking Workshops provide and opportunity for groups involved in community or co-operatively owned car clubs to benefit from sharing best practice, technical guidance and networking opportunities. A parallel initiative is under review for England, following a survey of operators.

Events at Parliament

Parliamentary receptions and events take place on an occasional basis at the House of Commons. Previous events have been free. Attendance is based on invitation and a first come first served basis. Carplus explored setting up an All Party Parliamentary Group on Car Clubs/Car-Sharing but concluded that we did not have the resources to support it.

Annual General Meetings

Run on an annual basis, usually in the Autumn, and preceded by a topical workshop and review of the previous year. Open to all to observe but voting rights are available to Carplus members only.

Car Club operator meetings

Hosted on a quarterly basis. Open to accredited car club operators these meetings provide an opportunity to discuss the work priorities of Carplus that are of interest to car club operators, the latest developments that impact on the car club sector and other issues of common interest.

Business workshops

Run on an occasional basis to demonstrate the potential benefits of car clubs for businesses, employers’ organisations, and public and voluntary bodies.

Collaboration and co-hosting of events

We work with others to promote innovation in sustainable transport.

External Events

We often participate in third party transport events. Please contact us if you would like a member of Carplus to present at an upcoming event.
